Den indre by i Nerja byder på terrassegader og et kosmopolitisk miljø, hvor man lever afslappet i en paradisisk turistby. Den enestående skønhed har gjort, at dette område ved Maro, et par kilometer øst for Nerja, fuldt fortjent har modtaget udmærkelsen "Beskyttet Natur" som "Naturlandskab".
