This amazing Bed & Breakfast is situated at the top of the village Ferreirola with a wonderful view over the flat roofs of the village and the surrounding mountains of the Alpujarra and an excellent location in the nature of the Alpujarra and Sierra Nevada. The beautiful Sierra Nevada Natural Park is next door to this amazing natural area. Entering the house through the blue door is like walking into a small village as the house is actually several houses joined together by gardens and terraces. The house has doble and single bedrooms. The spaciousness and the quietness of the place is increased as most rooms have their own terrace with superb views. The rooms are furnished rustily with Alpujarran bed clothes. They all have modern bathrooms and central heating. In the hotel there is a large living-room with a fireplace, a library and a kitchen for the use of the clients. Smoking is not allowed indoors. WiFi available. The current owners have been running the B&B since 1985 and they offer: Bed and Breakfast individual holiday. Accommodation for groups arranging their own activities. The small whitewashed village of Ferreirola is beautifully and appropriately placed at 1,000 m on the southern slope of the National Park Sierra Nevada. The mild climate of the valley, the many mountain springs, and the rich vegetation make up the scenery of this former Moorish village. The village is situated off the main touristy road. There is no passing traffic and you can enjoy unspoilt nature and quietness. The village forms together with 6 other small villages the parish La Taha de Pitres. The village has quite a bit of artistic activity. There is a painter, a guitar builder, a flamenco workroom, the Alexander Music School and in the nearby surroundings more potters. Many of the walking paths of the area pass through Ferreirola. Among them is the GR 142 which traverses the whole of the Alpujarra. The area is known for its many artisan shops. Potteries, weavers and art exhibitions can easily be visited also on foot. Distances: Ferreirola - Granada city: 70 km Ferreirola - Costa del Sol: 50 km Ferreirola - Orgiva: 20 km Ferreirola - Motril: - 60 km
La Alpujarra has a wonderful location is a mountain range in Southern Spain. Situated overlooking the Mediterranean Sea it is the second highest mountain range in Europe. Most of La Alpujarra is now protected and is a National Park. The backdrop to La Alpujarra is the magnificent Sierra Nevada with its snow capped peaks. Well, from late October through to June anyway. You can ski in the morning and sunbathe in the afternoon on the beaches of Salobrena. The whole of the Alpujarra is much as it has been for centuries. True there are some obvious modernisations that have taken place. Roads and power cables for example. But the basic infrastructure is much the same. The region is excellently accessible from three airports; Granada one hour to the north, Malaga 1hour forty five minutes to the west and Almeria 1hour 30minutes to the East.
