Torremolinos is one of the most popular towns on the Costa del Sol. It is a busy town with extensive tourist infrastructure. The tourism in Torremolinos began in the 1950's, and became very popular during the 60's, and what was once a small fisherman's village, and became a destination of great importance in the south of Spain. This town of the province of Malaga is still nowadays an important Costa del Sol destination. Torremolinos is only 6 kms away from the international airport i in Malaga. Torremolinos has 9 kms of beautiful beaches. The temperatures often range from 30 to 40 degrees in this area of Costa del Sol. Torremolinos is also packed with nightclubs, discos and very nice restaurants, often open till sunrise. Torremolinos is a good place to have fun, but there are many areas around the town with peace and quiet to relax. After the summer, Torremolinos becomes a quieter place. On Sundays, the promenade is full of Spanish families that go out to lunch and for a pleasant walk along the beach. Many people return to Torremolinos year after year, because of the special atmosphere.
